Top-Rope

Solid anchor building skills are a must for Climbers looking to head outdoors.

This course introduces confident gym climbers to the skills and knowledge required to top-rope outdoors. The course has two parts: an indoor session introducing key outdoor top-roping equipment and concepts, and an outdoor crag orientation, anchor building lesson and climbing session (usually the following day)!

who's
suited?
  • Confident indoor top-rope belayers

  • No climbing level requirement

  • No age limit (within gym rules)

Prerequisites
  • Climbers should be confident, gym-approved indoor belayers with at least 1 month climbing experience

  • No pre-requisite for climbing ability 

  • Outdoor climbing experience helpful, but not required

  • 2-3 hour indoor session with guide

  • Full-day (8 hr) Outdoor Course

  • All necessary climbing gear provided

  • 1:6 Maximum guide to participant ratio
